Enhancing Earnings Visibility in a Mobile Marketplace

The Challenge

Anthor's gig workers earn money by completing retail tasks, with earnings managed through a white-label financial platform compliant with regulatory standards. Initially, workers struggled to clearly see their earnings and efficiently transfer money to their personal accounts. Our existing design failed to effectively highlight earnings, negatively impacting user engagement.

Through user discovery sessions, we identified the core issue: the placement of earnings information was not prioritized effectively. Workers frequently visited the home page, yet earnings details were buried elsewhere.

The Solution

To improve engagement and transparency, I redesigned the app’s earnings experience by:

  • Placing earnings prominently on the app’s home screen, increasing visibility.

  • Adding an option to quickly hide sensitive earnings information for privacy.

  • Revamping the earnings screen to highlight available balances and upcoming payments clearly.

  • Introducing monthly filtering options for transaction history, enhancing financial tracking.

  • Offering flexible transfer methods, including easy selection and management of transfer accounts.

Results

  • Improved user engagement with the earnings feature, significantly increasing daily app interactions.

  • Enhanced financial transparency, empowering users with clear visibility of their earnings.

  • Streamlined transaction management, leading to quicker and more frequent withdrawals.
